The Marlins won the second game of the championship series on Sunday night, bringing the team just one game away from their first senior league championship win in franchise history. Tonight however, they started the game down. The Hawks found themselves with an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first after Darren Colbourne hit an RBI single and later scored on a steal of home.
The Marlins would come back with a vengeance in the top of the second though, thanks to a Carter Park RBI single, an error, a sacrifice fly from Matt Colbourne, and a Riley Lockyer RBI single. The Hawks tied it up in the bottom of the sixth, on an RBI single from Ian Griffin and a bases loaded walk to Fred Cutler. In the top of the seventh though, the Marlins would score a go-ahead run on a passed ball in the top of the seventh, before Carter Park shut out the Hawks for the last frame to bring the Fish within one game of the championship, up 2-0 in the series. The Marlins will look to clinch on Tuesday night.
