September 15th Senior League Write Up: Marlins 9 Hawks 4

Sep. 15, 2022

In their first championship series game ever, the Marlins took a key game one win. They took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a 2 RBI double from Kyle Brown, and an RBI single from Anderson Traverse. Traverse hit another RBI single in the next inning, before the Hawks took a run back in the top of the fourth on a passed ball.

However, the next inning saw Anderson Traverse continue a career night by hitting a 3 run home run to make it 7-1.

The Hawks did score two runs in the top of the fifth on a bases loaded hit by pitch and a Mike Simms RBI single, and a fourth run on an error in the top of the sixth. However, Marlins ace Matt Colbourne would settle in and shut the door on the Hawks afterwards, and the Marlins would score two in the bottom of the sixth on Kyle Brown and Ryan Park RBI hits. That offense would give the Marlins a 1-0 series lead, and the Fish will look to take game two on Sunday night at 7 o'clock.
