The Marlins and Monarchs faced off in game three of their best of five series on Friday night. On Tuesday, the Monarchs had tied the series 1-1, but the Marlins looked to stop that momentum by putting their ace; Matt Colbourne, on the mound. Colbourne would do just that, striking out ten while going the distance.
Meanwhile, the Marlins offense would back him up from the very beginning. Ryan Park hit an RBI fielder's choice in the bottom of the first, and in the bottom of the third the Marlins would score two more on a Kyle Brown RBI single and a passed ball. The Fish would score a final two runs in the bottom of the fifth, thanks to RBI singles from Cole Porter and Riley Lockyer.
While the Monarchs would put pressure on late in the game, the Marlins would win the game, and take a 2-1 series lead.
