Tuesday night's game between the Monarchs Hawks was all Hawks from the very beginning. In the first inning, the Hawks scored two runs on a line drive double from Lucas Park. In the third inning, they scored one more on an RBI single from starting pitcher Thomas Hancock (who himself went 5 innings, allowing just two hits and striking out six along the way).
Darren Colbourne knocked in two more runs on a single in the fourth inning, but it would be the sixth where the Hawks would really do their game-ending damage. In the bottom of the sixth the Hawks would score two runs on a 2 RBI single from Ryan Purcell-Pilgrim, and Parker Salyzyn would knock in another on a single of his own. That would bring Mike Simms to the plate, and he would hit a 2 RBI single to left field to ensure a Hawks victory with a walk-off-mercy-rule knock.
