Monday night's Marlins and Aces matchup got started in typical Marlins fashion, with lots of offense. Riley Lockyer crushed a 3 run double into the gap, and gave his team an early 3-0 lead. However, the Aces got right back on the board in the bottom of the first, with Steven Hynes hitting an RBI fielder's choice, and Ryan Park hit a sac fly.
The Marlins would score 3 again in the second, thanks to a wild pitch, an error, and a Cole Porter RBI single. However, the Aces would tie the game at 6 in their half, with James Lewis and Ryan Lombard hitting RBI singles, and Steven Hynes hitting a 2 RBI double.
For the third straight inning, the Marlins scored three in their half of the inning, this time on a Brady Sheppard RBI single, and a 2 RBI knock from Braden Lockyer. It would take the Aces until the fourth to get back on the board, with the Marlins allowing a run to score while converting a double play.
Now 9-7, the Marlins made it 11-7 in the fifth, with Jay Miller hitting an RBI double, followed by an RBI groundout from Kyle Brown.
The Aces would get within one in the bottom half, thanks to a James Lewis RBI double, a wild pitch, and an error. However, the Marlins would put the game out of reach in the top of the sixth thanks to a wacky 2 RBI groundout from Brady Sheppard, and a wild pitch.
