Aces 14 Hawks 3: Late Offensive Burst Puts Game Out of Reach
Friday Night’s senior league matchup between the Aces and Hawks started off with the Aces grabbing an early 2-0 lead thanks to a two run double off the bat of Ryan Park. They would add to that lead in the second inning, scoring four runs in the frame; two runs would score on a Greg Whelan single, Ryan Park would work a bases loaded walk, and Kyle Campbell would ground into a double play that allowed Whelan to score.
Speaking of Whelan, the Aces starter would throw a complete game for his squad, striking out eight Hawks along the way.
The Aces added one more run in the third to make it 7-0 thanks to a passed ball, and in the fourth Joey Reid would hit an RBI knock to make it 8-0 Aces
In the bottom of the sixth, the Hawks would finally get some runs on the board, with Charlie Callahan hitting an RBI single, and Mike Simms playing two more with a double.
Unfortunately for the Hawks, the Aces would score 6 runs in the top of the seventh and put the game well out of reach, sailing to a dominant 14-3 win.
