Hawks 9 Marlins 8
Monday night’s matchup was a wild one between the Hawks and Marlins. One night after facing each other in a game that saw the Marlins get handed their first loss of the season, the Hawks handed the fish their second.
Tonight though, the Marlins started with the lead, after two runs scored on an error in the first. A Kyle Brown home run would make it 3-0, and things looked promising for the Lins, until a Thomas Hancock double made it 3-2, and a two run error would hand the Hawks the lead. The Marlins would tie it up on a Riley Lockyer single, and Graham Madore and Matt Colbourne would force two more runs across. The Hawks would score four in the bottom of the fifth though to make it 8-7, but in the top of the sixth and seventh the Marlins would score a run per frame to tie the game at eight.
In the bottom of the seventh though, the Hawks would claim victory as Ryder Penney hit a fly ball single to right field to seal a Hawks win.
